The garden in 2005

This compact urban garden, in a "modern cottage" style, sets out to prove that it is possible to have a "real" garden and three lively spaniels in a small space, without having to seperate the two.

We were extremely pleased when it was accepted to be opened for charity under the National Garden Scheme. Our first opening was in 2007.

We have no lawn and therefore lots of room for plants. The dense planting, meandering paths, secluded pergola, raised formal pond and feature patio have led visitors to describe the garden as “Tardis-like”.

The garden makes use of a number of design and practical solutions to lessen the impact of the dogs. I have a blog on some of these solutions at http://gardeninganddogs.wordpress.com/.
